Celebrate Storytelling on the Creative Island – 1-3 May 2026 The Langkawi International Film Festival (LIFF) invites filmmakers from around the world to submit their works for our 2026 edition—set in one of Southeast Asia’s most enchanting cultural and cinematic destinations. From 1-3 May 2026, join us on Malaysia’s island paradise for an immersive, multicultural celebration of cinema, art, and storytelling. LIFF is more than a film festival—it’s a meeting place for creative minds, a platform for socially-driven narratives, and a global stage for diverse voices from the Global South and beyond.

We welcome submissions in the following categories:
- Feature Films (up to 120 minutes)
- Documentaries (max 90 mins, 60 mins, or 45 mins)
- Short Films (up to 22 minutes)
- Animation (short or feature)
Every selected film will be screened at one of our stunning venues—indoors and open-air—and paired with discussions, Q&As, masterclasses, and live cultural showcases.

📦 Technical Requirements
- Submit your film via FilmFreeway
- Provide a Vimeo or YouTube screener link for evaluation
- If selected:
- DCP format required for cinema screenings
- High-res MP4 or MOV acceptable for virtual or secondary screenings
- English subtitles are mandatory for non-English-language films
