CORDOBA (Original Title: CÓRDOBA)

Bensalem Bouabdallah was born in Tlemcen, Algeria. He studied theatre at the Conservatoire National Supérieur d’Art Dramatique in Paris and film at the Conservatoire du Cinéma Français. In 1978, he was admitted to the UK’s National Film and Television School, specialising in film direction and editing. During the 1980s and 1990s, he worked extensively in independent and international television. In 1997, he founded EastWest Productions Limited in London, through which he has written, directed, and produced numerous documentaries and docu-dramas focusing on Islamic history, culture, and arts, particularly Muslim Spain. His work has been supported by UNESCO, and his films The Makkah Clock and Prayerwere produced for German broadcasters. CORDOBA, premiered in Spain in 2020, stands as a culmination of decades of research into Andalusian heritage. Bouabdallah currently lives in London and continues to develop international film projects.
