Umair Nasir Ali is a renowned Pakistani filmmaker and TV commercial director, and the founder of Num Films. Known for crafting emotionally powerful and visually striking narratives, he has directed numerous trendsetting and clutter-breaking television commercials over a career spanning more than fifteen years.
His storytelling sensibility is deeply influenced by classic literature and post-classical cinema, drawing inspiration from Urdu literary masters such as Krishan Chander, Shafiq-ur-Rahman, and Qurratulain Hyder. Umair is a graduate of Pakistan’s first film school at the National College of Arts (NCA), Lahore, where his passion for cinema and cultural storytelling was further refined.
Nayab marks his feature film debut, setting a new benchmark for gripping sports drama in Pakistani cinema. The film is slated for worldwide release and has already made a significant cultural impact in Pakistan.
