Husnora Rozmatova is an Uzbek filmmaker and screenwriter known for her socially conscious storytelling. She began her career in theatre and television before studying screenwriting and directing under filmmaker Yusuf Roziqov. Her feature film The Song Sustxotin (2024) explores themes of oppression, silence, and resilience in rural Uzbekistan. Despite facing censorship in her home country, the film gained international recognition, including a Special Mention at the goEast Film Festival in 2025. Rozmatova’s work is noted for its quiet realism, observational style, and focus on the lives of women.
